We will explore the dynamics and interconnected roles between IEM and ISSS with an interactive session focusing on case studies.


We'll discuss best practices for communication and collaboration, including navigating the complexities of regulations, ensuring compliance from recruitment to graduation, and developing effective policies that balance recruitment goals with regulatory requirements.

This session is ideal for ISSS, IEM, and IEL professionals.


Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to navigate the IEM/ISSS relationship in this case study focused session.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand distinct IEM and ISSS roles and responsibilities at different point of the international student journey and regarding the regulaitons.
  • Enhance collaboration and learn strategies for fostering better communication and cooperation between the IEM office and the ISSS office.
  • Navigate regulatory challenges: gain insights into managing regulatory challenges that arise from F-1/J-1 requirements, including initial admissions, change of status, maintaining status, and reinstatement issues.
