From Reactive to Proactive: IDEA in Faculty-Led Programs

Presentation Description: This session will explore the topics of inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA) in faculty-led program development. From example proposal questions to faculty leader training, we will discuss proactive ways to consider the needs of a diverse student population during the program development phase and how to support faculty leaders in embedding IDEA throughout their programs. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss and share challenges and best practices.

Learning Objectives:

Identify strategies for embedding principles of IDEA into the proposal, planning, and pre-departure stages of a faculty-led program
Examine their own processes for faculty-led program development through an IDEA lens
