Ruth Kamona is the University Director for International Student and Scholar Services at the City University of New York (CUNY). In that role, she is responsible for the institutional federal immigration regulatory compliance, and serves as the Principal Designated Official (PDSO) for all the 25 colleges as well as the Responsible Officer (RO) for the University J-1 Exchange Visitor Consortium (six community colleges and two comprehensive colleges). Ruth has presented at numerous NAFSA conferences both at the national and regional level. She is currently the TLS Knowledge Community Laision for NAFSA Region X, and she also previously served as the IEL Knowledge Community Laision, and Business Manager/Secretary. Additionally, Ruth is one of the founding members of the Study New York Consortium and she served on the steering committee. Ruth Kamona has a master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a Master’s of Science Education (MSEd) from Baruch College, City University of New York.
